He�s not your friend, Buddy!
It�s a well known fact around the league, especially when you talk to anyone associated with or close to the Kings franchise; That Buddy Hield is a huge fan favourite. Heading into his 3rd season for the Kings with 117 games under his belt, he is by a considerable margin the longest serving King in the NSL�s existence. Which if you know anything about the insufferable impatience and quick trigger finger of their GM, is pretty impressive.
It may be his cool and endearing name, or it could be that he�s still among the leagues best at shooting the 3 ball; A certified assassin from deep� Hell it could even be due to the difficulties trading such a guy, which would surely crater the Kings already fragile offence. Ether way there�s a long list of reasons as to why the Kings have gone all in on Buddy and what he brings.
Last season he had some handy averages of 15.4/3.5/2.7 a game making 2.7 3s on 42%� We�re only three games in to the 22-23 NSL season but he has come out of the gates hotter then fish grease. Pouring in 21/4.3/5.7 making 4.4 3s on 48%. In a much friendlier engine that seems to prioritise and reflect the NBA more accurately, in terms of 3pt shooting, Buddy is primed to break out. Taking his game to a whole new level alongside a revamped and retooled Sacramento roster.
Despite his warm and welcoming million dollar smile and his laid back Bohemian attitude, Buddy Makes sure to remind his opponents on any given night� That is is in fact, not your friend Buddy.
