ROOKIE OF THE WEEK WATCH - Week 10

PLAYERTEAMWHYSTATS

Alex Sarr

PER 12.35

Eastern
0-4
Continuing the big man brigade is Alex Sarr, the Hawks selecting him alongside Donovan Clingan. Sarr has seemingly gone from strength to strength in a developing roster. He was his same ol' self in the Week 10 matchups, amassing 10 points, 5 boards, an assist, a steal and 2 blocks. His plus/minus was down - an area that the Hawks have been working on. Sarr has been able to build on from game to game - can the Hawks get it together for him to reach that trophy?

Donovan Clingan

PER 21.54

Unlock Donovan Clingan! That was the mantra from the Hawks when they made their moves in the off-season to acquire the picks they did. Clingan has risen to the task and produced on his minutes - offering up 9 points per game and 9 boards with 1 steal and 2 blocks. Impressive numbers from the rookie - but his numbers took a hit in Week 10 as he slumped in every category of note. This also coincided with Donovan taking a seat and coming off the bench.

Adem Bona

PER 16.75

Eastern
2-2
Big Bona has been great, and his move from Philly to Toronto has been exactly what the rookie needed. Week 10 was the most improved week on the stat line for the young center - amassing 6 points, 4 boards, 1 assist, and a block on his 18 minutes. He was effective in his scoring, but the real taper was his +/- , resulting in a -3.3. A down week for him in his on-court time, an area the Raptors will need to have improved with their continuing aspirations.

Devin Carter

PER 21.02

Devin Carter and the Boston Celtics bided their time to get things moving after sustaining his injury and now he can prove his worth. Carter has been great, and Week 10 was exactly what GM Toby would have wanted from the rookie on his 12/13 minutes per game. He was +6.5 in Week 10, and aded 3 assists and 5 points. Holding his own in the league, and being able to add towards this enthusiastic roster.

Jonathan Mogbo

PER 14.52

Mogbo has had a rollercoaster year in his NSL debut; sometimes producing for the good and sometimes for the bad. Week 10 was definitely for the good as he amassed 8 points, 6 boards, a steal and a block per game! Philly have needed him to step into this role with that type of production and GM Nenjabin would be ecstatic about the week he had. Celebrating his efforts on the production side as well, as he managed +9.3 as well!

Dalton Knecht

PER 14.34

Dalton Knecht has been through it all in the NBA - he has been rock solid in the NSL however. Knecht has been consistent and added a helpful stat line to the 'excitement' hungry Mavericks. Dalton has been excellent in his usual minutes, Week 10 though was a slight downswing. He was down in nearly every area except his percentages, likely due to a reduction in minutes.

Zach Edey

PER 17.77

Another rookie, another big. Edey had an increase in minutes and that increase resulted in an increase in stats. Edey was able to add 13 points, 9 boards, 3 assists, 1 steal, 3 blocks and was 69% from the field. Excellent stats for the first year player, but his plus/minus was -7. Memphis need that to change, and that comes down to others on the court as well. He has been able to hold his own, but the Grizzlies are looking for consistency in what has been a significant down year for the franchise.

Pacome Padiet - a name you would think is an ALDI toiletries product. But no, he is a rookie who has been subtly adding his value in the Suns; linking up with others in his 16 mins per game. Week 10 was an upswing with his production going to 7 points, 2 boards, and 1 steal. Padiet has been a handy addition for the Suns - can he maintain this upswing, time will tell!

Stephon Castle

PER 12.75

Castle has been much discussed and managed to add towards the team, but similar to Edey, the veterans surrounding have been unable to pull them along. Castle has been helpful, managing to add 13 points, 5 assists, 4 boards, a steal during Week 10. However, his numbers on the efficiency side and on-court productivity side are down; managing to shoot 37% from the field and down -6.8 in the plus/minus.

Dillon Jones has already had a year of interesting moves going from Toronto to OKC. Jones has had a industrious start, but Week 10 was the improving week for the youngster. He managed 4 points, 4 boards, 3 assists, a steal and a block - very handy stats from the rookie. He added a +6.5 in the plus/minus column which was much needed for the contenders.
