Final squad, Season's Eve

Portland: 2022-2023 Squad

With mere hours before the official berth of a new season of NSL, the 2022-2023 season, the Portland front office finally puts down the phone. Portland has worked tirelessly and arguably, unnecessarily, all off-season to initiate and facilitate a significant amount of trade talks, eventuating in many completed deals.

With a brief moment to pause, inhale and reflect, Portland releases the official roster for the NSL 2022-2023 season:

G James Harden
F Kevin Durant
C/F Andre Drummond
C Jakob Poeltl
G Josh Richardson
G Patrick Beverley
F/G Cam Reddish
C/F Nerlens Noel
F/C Khem Birch
F Keita Bates-Diop
G R.J. Hampton
F Markieff Morris
C Luke Kornet
F Torrey Craig
G Daishen Nix

The starting lineup projects to be James Harden, Kevin Durant, Andre Drummond, Jakob Poeltl and Josh Richardson.

Key rotational players project to be Nerlens Noel, Patrick Beverley, Khem Birch, Keita-Bates Diop, R.J. Hampton, Torrey Craig and Markieff Morris.

In their lone pre-season game, the Portland team ran out the aforementioned starting line up in a game against the Houston Rockets. In that game, the Blazers showed their size and strength, dominating the glass. They gave away plenty of points to the Rockets in terms of threes made and free throws made, but the extra possessions allowed them to come out on top.

Week One sees the team up against the Houston Rockets, Denver Nuggets at home, and the New York Knicks, Oklahoma City Thunder on the road.

Andre Drummond and Khem Birch have been ruled out for the week. Notably, their opponents, the Knicks, will be without their star player Kawhi Leonard. The Rockets are healthy. The Nuggets are at full strength and the Thunder are missing Chet Holmgren, likely for the season.

All the best to all teams for Week One. Go Blazers!
