Injury-Plagued Clippers Refuse to Sink
The LA Clippers' 2025–26 season has felt more like a medical
drama than a basketball campaign. Nearly every key player on the roster has
spent significant time in the training room, yet the team has defied the odds
to maintain a gritty .500 record at time of writing
A Season on the Sidelines
The team's biggest hurdle has been the absence of its primary stars. Jalen
Williams has missed more than half the season and been rusty when able
to play, Paolo Banchero and centre Isaiah Hartenstein have
also dealt with long-term injuries, leaving the Clippers with a different
starting lineup almost every week. Often calling league bosses for a callup
makeshift big man
The Resilience Leaders
In the face of these setbacks, two young players have kept the season alive:
- Keyonte
George: He has taken over as the primary lead guard in recent
weeks originally being traded in as a 6-man scorer. His play through the
NBA season gives the team hope for the future
- VJ
Edgecombe: The rookie has been a defensive powerhouse, leading
all newcomers in steals (NBA) and providing much-needed energy on both
offence and defence.
The "Triple-Threat" Specialist
While the stars were out, Trey Murphy III emerged as one of
the league's most dangerous shooters. His ability to hit three-pointers at a top
10 rate has allowed the Clippers to stay competitive even when their offense
was shorthanded.
Looking Forward
With Isaiah Hartenstein finally returning to the court in the
NBA, there is hope that the "M.A.S.H. unit" is finally healing. If
the Clippers can keep their core players healthy for the final stretch of the
season or even around the .500 mark the team could transform from a survivor
into a serious play-in spot threat in the western conference
Public Apology
I know I've been somewhat missing in action when it comes to
league activity and contribution or even getting back to other GM's questions
it is not intentional and it's not how I usually conduct myself.
Unfortunately, life gets messy and other things take
priority, I will endeavour to address this soon.
All the best
Andrew
