Draft
Draft Board #4
Firstly, a huge congratulations to the Washington
Wizards for an amazing season and subsequent NSL title wining season. Also to
the Spurs for another unsurprisingly strong campaign
With the 2025 NBA draft approaching LAC GM has taken a
small amount of time to assess his potential draft selections and while it is
annoying that the best players available don’t fill positions of need it is
still an exciting time
With both Cooper Flag and Dylan Harper both expected
to be off the board with consecutive picks at number one and number two it’s
the Clippers who likely be choosing between VJ Edgecombe and Tre Johnson to
fill to solidify a PG rotation role.
Ace Baily will also come into consideration however his
pre-draft shenanigans and already having both Paolo Banchero and Jalen Williams
filling the PF and SF for the foreseeable future it’s not really a direction
the team will venture toward
Trading was / is also considered an option with a few
teams asking about the availability of #4. However, with John Collins opting
into his contract for the 2025/26 season the need to trade for a centre has
been somewhat alleviated and now allows the team to be a little more free on
what they decide to do.
Option 1. VG Edgecombe
An uber athletic combo guard in the mould of Russell
Westbrook with elite quickness and verticality getting to the rim added to a
reliable jump shot. Getting VG to LA would be a dream scenario. With VG going 3rd
in the NBA draft and LAC owning pick number 4 I’m not entirely sure ill be
holding out that this actually happens
Option 2. Tre Johnson
Arguably the best scorer in the draft this year and a
genuine chance to lead all rookies in scoring playing for a Washington team
that is amid a deep rebuild specifically if / when CJ gets shipped off to a
contender.
Option 3. Ace Bailey
Easily the most polarising prospect in the draft after
what can only be described as a unique pre-draft showcase. Ghosting every team
that requested a workout to manipulate his playing future.
Not an uncommon thing in the NBA draft process.

NBA summer league may also impact the team’s decision
making when it comes to the 4th pick which is also garnering
significant trade interest amongst the league.
