NSL Insider - Team by Team: Cleveland Cavaliersby sheed36, updated on Wednesday, October 26 2022, 11:49 am EST Cleveland Cavaliers Team Review Season
Record 43-39 Cavs had a surprising turnaround last
season, not only reaching the playoffs, but also by knocking off the top seed
Wizards and reaching the conference semifinals. That was Dylans last season
with the Cavs before he goes to Canada. Season Highlight/ Season Lowlight: The Cavs fought bravely enough to reach the
sixth position in the Eastern Conference. The team was composed of a solid
defense with Thybulle and Allen and a decent offense with Wiggins leading the
team. They managed to win in the tie break letting powerful Toronto Raptors
play an extra game in the Play in. Coming into the Playoffs the Cavs faced the
third best campaign of the season. The Wizards were hungry to get through the
first round, as they had fallen by the wayside the previous season. After a
terrible loss in game 1, Cavs managed to defend Devin Booker and Embiid by
winning 3 straight games. Wizards responded with two more wins to tie the
series, but Dylan found a way to win game 7 in Washington. On semifinal Cavs had a bigger defensive
test, Detroit Pistons. It was a tremendous challenge, a clash between two
unbeatable defenses, what some considered one of the most unwatchable series to
watch. Cavs surprisingly won the first game giving hope that Detroit unilateral
offense would not find ways to overcome the Ohio team's defense. However
Detroit further intensified their defense on Wiggins and took Irving out of
point freeing up space for him to attack from SG. Detroit 4-1. Worst Trade First one Dylan leaving the team Isnt too much for 32yo C.J McCollum
Best Trade Ohwell that was quick.
Notable Trades And he is back again...
Free Agency Alex Caroso 8600000 3 years. Alex was a fan favorite last season in
Ohio. He had a lot of chances coming off the bench but also starting as a
offensive opition Cleveland. Unfortunately injuries were a problem for him
during the season, taking him out of half of the regular season games. Star Actually the best trade from last season.
Cavs sent Tomas Satoransky and Bogdan. He finished the season with 19 ppg with
45% from the floor. He was the key piece for the Cavs to make the semifinals. Flop And the worst trade of the season. Ok not
his fault, but Cavs gave away Brook Lopez adn a pick for an a player to spend
his time in rehab. Draft grade 23 Blake
Wesley Amazing Combo guard with a lot of
potential. With sometime Wesley can become an backup for CJ. 47 Scottie
Pippen Jr Traded to Toronto for a second round pick
and 10 gm points. Ok price for a late second. 56 Johnny
Juzang Good shooting guard, will spend some time
in the G League to get a spot in Cleveland. Future Cavs is now under a new direction and Shams
just cleaned everything Cavs was last season. Wiggins and others 4 starters
were traded away and Cavs is now a complete different team, leaving the
defensive force they were one year ago. Cavs is now under CJ and Murray
leadership and might make the Playoffs
if CJ stays healthy. Possible Starting 5 C- Olynyk PF- Clarke SF- Bridges SG- CJ McCollum PG- Murray |
