A New Era.....

A New Era

after some off season dealings the LA clippers have almost finished the roster overhaul and ready to begin the arduous journey to the top of the western conference

not a journey that is foreign to the Clippers having been in the same position in a previous league and whilst the journey back to the top can be rewarding it can be equally as frustrating.

All said, the Clippers GM is all in on taking this journey head on, good bad or ugly (mostly ugly) Thankfully lessons learned from previous re-build's will be valuable learnings moving forward

with one key move still yet to occur this is where the roster will sit for the short term with expectations that the roster be extremely liquid while the GM evaluates player needs and players considered surplus to requirement.

Though it is important to note this rebuild is not and will not be geared towards tanking a season for the draft, but natural internal growth

Asset building will play a key role in getting back to the top, at time of writing the Clippers will have access to

11 x 1st round draft picks

6 x 2nd round draft picks

most importantly retaining our own picks across all future drafts, a key mistake made in previous seasons simply throwing away your own lottery picks waaaay to early is a franchise killer

Point Guards

R.J. Barrett
6'6"| 2-Way Inside-Out Point Forward

Ayo Dosunmu 6'4"| 3-Level Scorer

Shooting Guards

Bennedict Mathurin 6'7" | Shooter

TBA 6'6" | Sharpshooter

Pat Connaughton 6'5" | Inside-Out Scorer

Jalen Williams 6'6"| 3PT Shooter

Corey Kispert 6'6"| 3-Level Scorer

Small Forwards

Trey Murphy 6'8"| 3PT Specialist

Kelly Oubre Jr. 6'6"| 3-Level Scorer

Tari Eason 6'8"| Hybrid Defender

Duncan Robinson 6'7"| Shooter

Power Forwards

Paolo Banchero
6'10"| Slashing Play maker

P.J. Washington 6'7"| Inside-Out Scorer

Centre

Dwight Powell
6'10"| Inside-Out Scorer

Daniel Theis 6'9"| 2-Way Inside-the-Arc Scorer

Weakness

Quite clearly the weakness of the roster is youthful inexperience, size, depth and defence it may just be easier to type the weakness within the roster is the actual roster

Its expected the RJ Barrett will be the focus on offence while the younger team mates gain experience throughout the season and beyond.

Strengths

Shooting the ball looks to be where the Clippers should shine with the lowest three point rating on the team @ 73 being Daniel Theis. It will be a case all season of either scraping home an unlikely win or
being blown out by 30 points at half time

Future Moves

The imminent future of the franchise will be extremely liquid with moves likely to occur more frequently then previous seasons of set and forget freak basketball with the GM's mindset being focused on cutting unnecessary salary and players while the roster begins to take shape
