Can I get an Amen
With the #3 pick in the 2023 NSL Draft the Toronto Raptors select: Amen Thompson, a 6-7 PG out of Overtime Elite.

Amen a 6-7 Point guard with a 6'11 wingspan, who has elite athleticism and high defensive upside.
Tantalising, however, I'm sure many of you had similar questions to I, what is the competitiveness of this league he's in and could what he was doing in the OTE be trusted to translate to the NBA. Simple answer there's no real way to tell, similar to kids who come out of College, Europe the NBL or any other league you just have to analyse them on their game. Not often do we see a prospect a sure thing at the next level, so we just threw all caution to the wind and went with the highest upside. What Amen does have going for him is an elite first step, a tight dribble, good court vision and blistering speed in the open court. It was clear that even at the NBA level he would have top 1% athleticism with top level defensive potential. The real question mark to his game will be can he develop a consistent jumpshot. Amen from all report's lives in the gym so with top level coaching I think this will be added to his game down the line.
Many reports had us taking Brandon Miller at 3 just due to fit, though we would never look to use a pick this high on a fit pick. With us already having a franchise point guard on the roster in Trae Young. We'll be able to sit and monitor how the potential glitchy tall PG Amen will progress in 2k and down the line he could take Treas's spot and Trae would be on the way out for a star wing. It's an interesting position that's for sure.
