Clipper’s Draft Big board

Coming into the time of the season when LAC management start looking towards the draft and post season frivolities, currently sitting toward the bottom of the NSL league and in line for what could be a high lottery pick.

Every season we go into the draft we set the number one drafting rule “do NOT draft for need over best player available a rule we broke last NSL draft.

1.      Alexander Saar – France (Perth Wildcats, NBL)

Ok don’t draft for need rule doesn’t apply when the player is also atop of the best player available list too. Saar would be the perfect fit next to Clipper PF Paolo Banchero. Let’s go lottery gods make it happen.

2.      Cody Williams – Colorado.

6’8 SF out of Colorado is the younger brother of current Clipper Jalen William, Cody is taller than his older brother but offers many of the same skills Jalen had coming out of Santa Clara. With a good feel for the game. Will Cody might be bigger than Jalen, he is also thinly framed and may need some time to develop his body.

3.      Ron Holland – G-league Ignite.

Ron will be the youngest player to be draft (if drafted) at 18 years a dog on the defensive end and an athletic downhill scorer he is a little stiff as a shooter but has the “potential “to be a great 2-way wing

4.      Kel’el Ware – Indiana

Probably not as high on a lot of big boards, it’s just hard to ignore the size and athleticism combination. A genuine shot blocking 7-footer with a developing outside game. One thing that can’t be ignored is the almost lazy way he plays.

5.      Stephon Castle - UConn

A very good player with a doggedness about him, and a great feel for the game. If Stephon had a reliable shot, he would be easily the #1 pick in the 2024 draft. That said his hustle, feel for the game and defense is enough to get him on the court. The ceiling is about whether NBA coaches can get his shot to an NBA average level.

Regardless of the draft outcome the LA Clippers are excited for the remainder of the NSL season and an epic NSL playoffs where the winner could genuinely be anyone of several great teams.

We wish everyone the best of luck in the coming weeks and months ah
