Houston's Average FA
Our free agency experience was pretty average. Normally, I would have a 99 bid and a bunch of 17 bids. But this year I didn’t spend enough time on NSL and didn’t rack up the GM points. I only had 87 GM points to work with. That was only enough for 5 bids. So I went for 5 players, but only won 2: Javonte Green and Alec Burks. The guys I missed on were Guerschon Yabusele, Taurean Prince, and Derrick Jones Jr. I knew a lot of teams were going for Taurean. And I had a good feeling San Antonio was going to get him. But I figure he would be the one guy I YOLO on. And lesson to learn on Derrick Jones Jr is that if a team doesn’t renounce a guy, chances are I’m not going to win him unless I throw a 99 bid. I salvaged the night with the landings of Svi Mykhailiuk and Gary Harris. I don’t plan on filling the final roster spot because I have a very good feeling one of my 2WAY players will sign a full-time deal by the time we get to playoffs.
So let’s go over the haul:
Javonte Green
I never really followed this guy. But I saw him on a list of roleplayers who were shining this season.This was a list that included him, Jay Huff, Kris Dunn, Rui Hachimura, and Ochai Agbaji. I had to check him out and he looked like Torrey Craig in game. I also noticed he could really yam it and had the Aerial Wizard badge which was something I also really liked about Derrick Jones Jr. He just looks really strong and athletic. It’s kind of hard to believe he’s actually 31 years old. You just don’t see guys this old that move like this.
Alec Burks
I never really followed this guy. But I saw him on a list of roleplayers who were shining this season.This was a list that included him, Jay Huff, Kris Dunn, Rui Hachimura, and Ochai Agbaji. Alec Burks
Alec Burks is a guy I’ve always liked and I think he’s really good in NBA 2K. I wanted to get him off Sheed last year but didn’t have the assets to give for him. He’s playing for the Miami Heat this year and isn’t really getting many minutes. But when he does get minutes, he scores.
Svi Mykhailiuk
I only had 12 players, and Mykhailiuk was the lowest salary with decent tendencies. He’s not getting any minutes with Utah so far this season. But if he’s healthy, I could use him off my bench.

Gary Harris
I saw Gary Harris getting minutes the other day in Orlando. I still needed 1 more player to get to the minimum requirement. I originally wanted Johnny Juzang because he had a much lower salary, but Milwaukee beat me to it. So Gary was the next best player on the board. I have no idea how he looks in 2K. But I see he still has the defensive ratings and his 3PT is at 78. This guy use to be the player comparison for defensive shooting guards. I think Isaac Okoro and Jarrett Culver were compared to him as prospects. This guy use to get hurt a lot though. I hope that isn’t the case still. If anything, I can use his salary for trade.
