Round 2: Fight!
The Pacer Organization would like to start this memo with a congratulations to all the playoff teams, especially the Washington Wizards for their great sportsmanship in the round 1 playoffs. The Pacers were able to take out a formidable foe in the Wizards, who had given the Pacers all kind of troubles in the regular season. With the twin towers of Capella and KAT, the Pacers were worried they wouldn’t match up well.
Luckily, Embiid came through, without injury. So far, Embiid has been spectacular, averaging 37ppg and almost 20 rpg in the first round. This is going to be a big ask for him to continue to dominate, but that is what the Pacers need. With the next highest scorer being Derrick Rose at just under 17ppg, this team cannot afford for Joel to have an off night. He has to bring it every game. There was some concern about the knee injury that happened early on, but he has been playing through it, and sources say he may have to have surgery in the offseason.
The next round is up for grabs, as we do not know who we will be playing yet. There is a small chance that the Pacers could be the highest seed left in the first round, which would give them home court advantage throughout the rest of the playoffs. The Pacers are not counting on this though, as there is some formidable competition out there still. It has been and odd first round, with all the lower seeds doing extremely well against the top seeded competition. This just goes to show that home court advantage is not nearly as big in the NSL as it is in the NBA. It’s just hard to simulate what getting rest in your own house is like on the 2k engine. This is a good omen for the Pacers though, as they are still just the #5 seed in the Eastern Conference.
Looking forward to who we get to play next!
