Davon Reed
The newest (active) member of the Orlando Magis is Davon Reed.
Markieff Morris was also added a couple of days later, but we still need to wait on his comeback from his neck injury. He will be used as a backup big for this team when he will be available.
But back to the main topic of this article...
Davon Reed was drafted 2017 in the secound round and then disapeared because he played on several teams in the G-League and international in China for the Taoyuan Pilots of the P. League+.
Reed stayed full 4 years at his college in Miami, he averaged 14.9 points and 4.8 rebounds in his final season.
He came on the NSL radar at the end of 2021 as he was picked up by the LA Lakers, they released him at at the start of 2022 and Mailo took a chance to pick him up for Orlando. As the first roster move as GM of the Magic in the NSL.
His 10 day contract was now transformed to a 2-Way-Contract, so there could be hope that he can stay for longer with the Magic if he shows what he can bring on the court. As there is no limit for call ups at the moment we expevt him to be with the team most of the time, instead of playing for the Lakeland Magic.
His main value is outside scoring, athleticism and also defense and some sort of playmaking.

Reed is a 26 year old wing player with a height of 6.5 .
He will be a solid backup on the SF and SG position.
We are happy to have him on our roster and hope that he can still develop and show his main skills as a backup for the Magic.
