From under a rock

From under a rock

Firstly, I’d like to send out my apologies to the league for my absence over the last few months, unfortunately life happens which forced me away from NSL and the league I’ve thoroughly enjoyed for years.

Hopefully with the dust settling on what has been a tumultuous year I can resume some of my NSL activities and enjoy what looks to be the culmination of a wonderful playoff series. And navigate what is next for the Clippers who just concluded what was a disastrous season albeit a rudderless campaign.

First cabs off the rank will be considering the futures of both John Collins (player option) and Moritz Wagner (team option) the teams only centre eligible players. followed by a 2025 NSL draft pick in which the Clippers will select at #4 which is quite a relief considering from quick reading, seems to be a clear top 4 or 5 draft prospects in which after a quick analysis its most likely the Clippers will either add Ace Bailey or VJ Edgecombe to the 2025-26 roster

Which is not ideal and just adding players we don’t really need to the roster, but when using a #4 draft pick you DO NOT draft for need over best player available unless you receive a trade offer that is an absolute no brainer for the outlook of the franchise

Coming off a campaign that could only be described as farcical we need to do some serious roster construction this off season

·         C – John Collins (PO), Moritz Wagner (TO)

·         PF – Paolo Banchero, Tari Eason, Kris Murray

·         SF – Tobias Harris, Trey Murphy, Ron Holland

·         SG – Jalen Williams, Jordan Hawkins, Aj Johnson

·         PG – Cason Wallace, Keyonte George, Kobe Bufkin

Trade Block

In order to make a more balanced roster for the upcoming season the players most likely to be offered up in a trade will be as follows

·         Tobias Harris 1 yr 26.6 Million (81 overall)

Veteran SF/PF on an expiring contract, would love to keep him on team unfortunately will need to make way to round out other positions

·         Kris Murray Rookie Scale (73 Overall)

Finished the 2024-25 season as a starter in Portland I’m expecting 2025-26 season to be a breakout campaign for Kris

·         Kobe Bufkin Rookie Scale (73 Overall)

Kobe is an enigma shows flashes of being a regular contributor to an NBA team unfortunately just can’t stay healthy for long periods of time

·         AJ Johnson Rookie Scale (75 Overall)

AJ is a favourite of this Clippers GM and probably the least available of all players listed. A mid-season trade during his rookie campaign to the rebuilding Wizards only increases his chances of becoming a legitimate NSL starter.
