Free Agency 2022
This time we look back at this year�s Free Agency.
The both restricted Free Agents of this year are still with the team: Devon Reed and Cody Martin
JaMychal Green was an unrestricted free agent and the Magic would have liked to keep on board. But Green decided to join the Houston Rockets instead.
So after the Green decision GM Mailo tried to land a big men to fill the gap on the bench, but there was no luck with that (with one exception we would like to address little later...)
But a couple of solid guards joined the team during the Free Agency process.

Damion Lee and Edmond Sumner commits to the Orlando Magic.
Edmond Sumner is a 26 year old point guard / shooting guard. He spent three years playing for the Xavier University. Since 2019 he spent his time in the NSL for the Miami Heat. They renounced him this fall and he became a unrestricted free agent. The Magic are happy to have a solid bench guard in him. He can give some playmaking and shooting, his 3P% in this year�s 9 games so far is 53%. He also started the first 4 season games to replace Suggs as a starting shooting guard.
Damion Lee is a 30 year old shooting guard. He is btw married to Sydel Curry-Lee, she is the little sister of Stephen and Seth Curry :) Damion Lee is a sharp shooter so he fits into the Curry family ;)

Lee stayed five years at college, four years at Drexel University (where he played for three years) and for his final year he transferred to Louisville and played there for one year.
This season he played 7 games so far and could not show his sharpshooting ability during that games, with under 0.20 3P%. His impact was very little so far, but have him on the bench as reserve should be a good thing for a long season with injuries and all that.
And late in the free agency process MaiLo decided to give the Italian national player Simone Fontecchio a chance as a rookie on the Orlando Magic. As we see him as rookie we will tell more about him and this year�s first round draft choice Ochai Agbaji in our next article..stay tuned!
