Pick 25 - Leonard Miller

The Trade To Get The Pick

Gm Ethan has agreed in principle on a deal to send Al Horford to the Milwaukee Bucks for Larry Nance Jr and pick 25 in the 2023 NSL Draft.  This deal was agreed upon, around 3-4 weeks ago, since then the scouting department got to work.

Leonard Miller

Age: 19
Position: SF/PF
Height: 6'10
Wingspan: 7'2
Weight: 213lbs
Nation: Canada

Leonard Miller caught the eye of Gm Ethan relatively quickly.  He's got huge frame, he plays hard, he's got two way ability, he can score, he rebounds exceptionally well and he seems like a good kid, he ticks all the boxes.  Upon having a small fascination with Miller, Gm Ethan reached out to a GM in the Pacific Division who had told him that a team from the central division had significant interest in Miller and was going to take him a few spots higher than pick 25.  Luckily at the 2023 NSL Draft, Leonard Miller found his way to the Minnesota Timberwolves franchise, much to the delight of GM Ethan.  Miller looks to sign a 4yr deal with the franchise in the coming weeks, a 2+2 deal.

Quote on Leonard Miller:
"Comfortable midrange shooter. He can take short pull-ups or pivot into contested fadeaways. If hes ever able to extend his range behind the arc, itd be a game changer for his upside." Kevin O'Connor - The Ringer

Miller is one an intriguing prospect, not only due to those attributes listed above, but for the fact he is a big man who possesses some guard skills, he loves to keep the ball moving on offence, he can put the ball on the floor and make things happen as well.  Leonard has the ability to make plays as a passer and can show off some of his point guard instincts within simple sets.  His early summer league play has been extremely encouraging on both ends of the floor, highlighted by a SICK block on a 3pt attempt that lead to an open dunk on the other end.

We are super excited to have Leonard Miller in Minnesota and think he will quickly show that he shouldn't have fallen to 25 in the draft and has given Minnesota another valuable draft day pick!
