Ricky Bobby is right.........

If you aint first, ya last

Here we are on the precipice of week 4 in the NSL as with most season beginnings all teams are either riding the high of early season success or lamenting the beginning of what may turn out to be a long arduous season.

The Clippers are setting their expectations a little lower than we originally liked however we still hope for the best whist fielding such a young and inexperienced team with hopes to see LAC field a competitive lineups that like last season sees the young team finish around the play in / play off area.

One thing the Clippers management is good at and will remain vigilant with though is patience, trading for the sake of trading will never be a part of the teams DNA. And for the foreseeable future we have our sights set on setting up the future of the franchise rather than chasing short term success

Immediate goals after starting the season 4-6 is to investigate the possibly offloading Gerami Grant, most likely for a position of need almost definitely a Centre and like mentioned above its just not something we will jump into and could in fact be a long wait until something actually manifests itself.

The delay or lack of haste in bringing in another Centre is simply due to the surprising play of Mr. 0gm Drew Eubanks (didnt even want to sign him in FA, it was a test bid.!!!) who in starting minutes thus far has put up a very respectable 9pts 11bds 2blks per game.

While Eubanks is in no way the future for LAC in the middle, he is an acceptable stop gap while hunting for a replacement piece that can be part of a growing core group. With teams still jostling for position the Clippers will happily take things as they come and trade when the time presents itself

With 2 games left in week 3 and a brutal week 4 schedule we are expecting the dust to settle and a little more fluidity in the trade market. Teams will start to recognize what direction to take and make the moves that suit that direction. which may open up more trade options for a patiently waiting Clippers GM
