Slow Start
Well well well
Safe to say this isnt what we expected from the Magic to start the season, as we have just limped out the gates to sit on a measly 3 wins in the first two weeks of NSL Action. We had sky high hopes after a nice off season and adding some personnel to help us make a strong play off push, but so far its only been the trae young show.
We can pretty much write off that first week and try and forget it ever happend after we watched shot after shot drop embarrassingly short for players who are meant to be the best in the world at shooting. I liken it to the games i used to play at dandenong basketball stadium against City, who were lead by none other than Toby and Jesse. Except our games were probably better to watch.
Week 2 brought a little bit more joy with some nice wins over the Bucks and Warriors who have good looking teams on paper. Once again it was Trae young saving us with 45 points and 38 points in those games respectfully, so we still have some work to with the coach to try and get everyone else firing as well. Things look like they are building though.
Going to be a big test in week 3 though with 3 massive outs already confirmed due to old mate corona virus. Tobias Harris, Kevin Love and Lauri Markkanen all missing.
Thats 2 starters and a 6th man all gone this week and they are all tall, so we could be in for a week from hell. Haven't decided on a final team yet though but it looks like newly signed free agent Jeff Green and Airplane Mode Derrick Jones Jr will be in for all the minutes they can handle this week. Also Vernon Carey Jr will most likely take up the back up centre roll for the first time this year.
