Trading Places

Since the Zion trade, the Bucks have seen some good progress on the winning front, seeing the team reach as high as 5th in the East.
Sadly injuries and covid started to really affect the availability of our roster, which saw the team stumble somewhat, now sitting in 8th place in the East.
The Bucks certainly want to avoid a play-in tournament if they can, so have there eyes set on finishing 6th or above in the East.
With the recent news that a couple of the higher placed teams have potentially lost their best players for the season, an opportunity to potentially move up the standings in the East may have presented itself, so the Bucks GM went to work to try and improve the roster and depth should another covid outbreak or injuries hit later in the season.
First Juan Hernangomez was waived and Torrey Craig was signed using some of the teams cap space.
Torrey Craig has played on GM DazMan's team before, and brings veteran experience, hard nosed defence, three point shooting and the versatility to play at shooting guard or either forward position.
Next backup point guard Reggie Jackson was traded to the Toronto Raptors for P.J. Tucker and a 1st round pick in 2023.
While Reggie was an important piece of the second unit, the lure of adding a 4th 1st round pick for 2023, as well as P.J. Tucker, another former "DazMan guy" was too much to pass up. It was hoped that Killian Hayes might also be ready to step into the rotation at backup point guard.
P.J. Tucker, like Torrey Craig, brings strength, defence, three point shooting and again versatility on the wings and at the 4.
Next after a couple of close losses to the best the West has to offer in Portland and San Antonio, it was decided that the team needed further depth at center, and we really needed one of these athletic bigs that can dominate in the modern game.
After a failed bid for Ed Davis, DeAndre Jordan became available and Trey Lyles and a first round pick for 2024 were quickly offered.
After some negotiations and despite not really wanting to reach into the 2023 stash, it was decided that 3 picks in that draft would still be enough for the teams strategic planning and a deal was struck for a 2023 1st and 2nd.
DeAndre Jordan at 33 years old is still a nightmare for oppositions bigs in this league, with size, speed, strength and a nose for a rebound. He will step in at starting center straight away in week 10, which hopefully means Mitch Robinson can feast on the opposition second units.
One other small change to the lineup will see Killian Hayes again removed from the rotation in favour of the improving Hamidou Diallo.
Hayes was calling his own number too much on poor shooting efficiency, so it is hoped Hamidou can really take a leaf out of the team's star Shai Gilgeous-Alexander's playbook and attack the rim with reckless abandon at point guard.
With the team fully healthy for week 10, it is hoped that many wins will follow.
Let's go Bucks!
