Rookies
We want to send a (little bit late) welcome to the Rookies of the Orlando Magic.
One came via Draft, one via Free Agency and the last one is a 2 Way player.
And we also want to welcome our 2nd 2 Way player, who is a Sophomore...but a real solid one :)
Lets start:

With the 16th pick in this years draft the Orlando Magic selected Ochai Agbaji.

With the 16th pick in this years draft the Orlando Magic selected Ochai Agbaji.
He is a 22 year old Wing player.
Ochai stayed full 4 years at the University of Kansas. In his senior year he won the NCAA championship with the Jayhawks. He also won "NCAA Final Four Most Outstanding Player" and "Big 12 Player of the Year" in 2022.
Ochai is often described as a true '3 and D' player. With good shooting ability and solid physical attributes for the next level. He needs some time, but also showed a little of what he is capable to.

The Italian national player Simone Fontecchio is also a NSL rookie and joined the Orlando Magic as a free agent. Many talked about him as the best European free agent in 2022.

Simone is a 27 years old forward.
He was born in Italy and played most of his career there, he played also in Germany and Spain.
He won several championships in Italy.
Now to our 2 Way player rookie.
He is hurt (maybe all season) but the Magic decided to give it a try and maybe have him on the long run.
Because Collin Gillespie has a lot of potential.
He is a 23 year old Guard.
He stayed 5 years at Villanova. And like Agbaji he also won a NCAA Championship in 2018.
We will see when he will be healthy and what his future will bring...we are excited about him.
Last but not least sophomore Eugene Omoruyi. He joined the team also as a 2 Way player.
He is a very physical '3 and D' player.
Eugene is 25 years old and was born in Nigeria. He played college basketball for the Rutgers Scarlet Knights and the Oregon Ducks over 5 years.
In the NSL he was with the Dallas Mavericks last year.
So a lot of exciting young talent in Orlando...we hope to see some Magic happen here ;)
