More Misery Incoming
The Knicks start to the season has been one to forget, and heading into week 5 of the year it looks likely to continue on the same path with another losing week for the fans to look forward too.
Rumours around the league are that the front office has executed a trade that will go down sometime during week 5, but the terms of that deal have not been announced yet and are unlikely to be talked about by the Knicks franchise.
Last season saw the team have a similar slow start to the year. With a 5-12 record, the Fans wanted Smokeys head. This season has been no different, sitting at 6-9 the team looks ahead to week 5 without Walker Kessler and Mason Plumlee as they come up against The Celtics, Spurs, Magic and the resurging Heat.
Once the quarter of the season mark passed last season, the team were able to string some great basketball together finishing the season with a 57-25 record after the slow start. But, can that happen again this season? the competition is much tougher, and teams are closing the gap at a rapid pace with their willingness to compete.
"We feel like we have what it takes to compete." Josh Hart said. "But, we are struggling to find the chemistry on the floor like we did last season and into the playoffs."
If the team exits week 5 at a worst case 6-14 record, are they going to be able to replicate what they did last season moving forward? within the franchise there is nothing but positivity, the players, coaches and front office all have the confidence that they will be able to put together some basketball that stakes up against the best in the league.
For now, though, we sit back wait, and see what team comes out to play next week. The likely hood is that the team just wont be able to find the chemistry it requires to compete against the best. But, stranger things have happened, and with the trade rumours swirling maybe this week is when the team will put their best foot forward.
