Scooting on a prayer
What next for the Celtics? I am sure you are all aware by
now that Boston will be without their captain and franchise player, Jayson
Tatum. As he will miss the entirety of the season with an injured achilles.
Although this news devastating to everyone invested in the Celtics, it meant
the team had to make a decision for the following season.
The Celtics have branded the 2025-26 season a “Re-Tooling”
season, where they will be using the time without their leader to grow his
understudies and newly acquired talent.
Garland who was a beloved Celtic has unfortunately found his
way to another team. He was on board with this as he feels he is in his prime
and didn’t want this next season to go to waste. For him the Celtics have had
an injection of youth (not that they needed it) and will be hoping for some big
strides from their newly acquired Scoot Henderson and Keyshawn George.
The GM was a big fan of Scoot when he was drafted and had
made multiple offers to the different GMs that had him. I believe there was an
offer of Garland for Scoot straight up which was denied. Safe to say Toby is
glad that happened, but perhaps it should have been a lesson and warning. None
the less, the GM is very hopeful and bullish that Scoot will come good and be
the new starting PG of the franchise. After all he is only 21 years of age, and
if I remember correctly garland got was bad out of the gates and received some
negative comments and statistics which showed him to be the worst statistical
guard in the league, or something similar about efficiency and defence.

The point is these things can get blown out of proportion and learning to lead a team at point guard is regarded as one of the harder transitions a young player can make coming to the league.
All high hopes and prayers at this stage for Scoot.
